Installation
- Where do I download the app? On the home page, “Download for Windows” button. You get the official installer of the latest version, published on GitHub.
- Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. That's the SmartScreen warning, shown for recent apps that don't have a reputation with Microsoft yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- Which Windows version? Windows 10 or 11. The app uses WebView2, the Microsoft Edge rendering engine, already included in these versions. There is no Mac version.
- How do I update it? Nothing to do: the app checks for new versions itself and offers to install them. After an update, a screen sums up what's new.
- How do I uninstall it? Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Sports Counter → Uninstall.
Using the app
- The widget disappeared. Press Ctrl + Alt + S, or launch the app again from the Start menu: it shows the widget instead of opening twice. Its icon is also next to the clock, sometimes hidden behind the small ^ arrow.
- How do I pick my teams, players, drivers or fighters? Click the icon next to the clock: the settings window opens. Pick a league on the left, then tick your favourites. The Réglages section groups F1 drivers, UFC fighters and hockey players.
- I don't get notifications. Check that they are turned on in Réglages → Notifications, and that the app is running (its icon is next to the clock). During a full-screen game or video, they are hidden if “Cacher en plein écran” (hide in full screen) is on.
- The widget covers my window. In Réglages, choose “Sur le bureau” (on the desktop): the widget stays behind your windows. You can also make it smaller, or show it only during a game.
- The widget says “vérifie ta connexion Internet”. The app can't reach ESPN. It keeps the last known scores and retries by itself as soon as the network is back.
- The app is in French. Yes: Sports Counter is designed in French, including translated play descriptions. Translation can be turned off in Réglages to keep ESPN's original English.
- Some information is missing or looks wrong. The data comes from ESPN. When ESPN doesn't provide something (the 3 stars, win probability…), that section simply isn't shown.
- Keyboard shortcuts. Ctrl + Alt + S shows or hides the widget, Ctrl + Alt + M opens the Match window. Both can be changed in Réglages.
