Your speed, to the digit.
A speedometer that doesn't fake it. Doppler GPS speed, barometric altitude, real G-force — and your whole track on Apple Maps.
Numbers you can trust
Most speedometers show a number even when the sensor doesn't know. Not this one: an unreliable value shows as “--”.
Doppler speed
Speed comes from the GPS itself, not from distance ÷ time. It is far more accurate, and doubtful readings are discarded.
Barometric altitude
The barometer tracks changes to within a metre, against ±10–20 m for GPS. It is zeroed on GPS at the start, then follows pressure.
It knows when you're flying
An aircraft cabin is pressurised, so the barometer always reads about 2000 m. The app spots the mismatch and offers to switch to GPS.
Real G-force
Acceleration is rotated into the frame of travel: however the phone is lying, forward stays forward.
Built for skiing
Two modes at start: Normal and Ski. Riding up then down a hill isn't a run — only Ski mode splits the day.
- Runs and lifts detected automatically, each with its own stats.
- Cumulative vertical up and down — the number that actually means something on snow.
- Speed zones: time spent in each band.
- Track coloured by speed on the map, with a 3D terrain view.
And a ride mode
Under a steel structure, GPS is useless. Ride mode does without it: inertial sensors at 100 Hz, barometer, and every ride detected on its own.
- Airtime measured — the moment you leave the seat, timed to the hundredth.
- Free fall shown as speed: in free fall every force reads zero. The app shows your fall speed instead — the one number that does go up.
- Inversions and jerk counted, plus the G-force curve of the whole ride.
- A leaderboard per ride: name the ride, and your runs compare against each other.
Three dials, one truth
Minimal, Sport or Alpine: the look changes, the data doesn't. km/h or mph, everywhere in the app.
Minimal
One thin arc, one huge number, three markers. Nothing to distract.
Sport
A segmented arc that lights up step by step, with a marker on your top speed.
Alpine
The dial tints with the slope and traces your last minute.
In the car, a dashboard
Turn the iPhone sideways: Apple Maps fills the screen, the speedometer moves left, and a swipeable dial gives you G-force, music or altitude.
Apple Maps directions
Search a destination and the app switches to navigation: route on the map, turns on screen, recalculation if you stray.
Your music
Artwork, title and playback controls without leaving the app.
Standalone Apple Watch
The watch records on its own, with no iPhone nearby. Sessions sync up later over iCloud.
Nothing leaves your device
No data is collected by the developer. There is no server.
Your sessions stay on your device and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud.
No ads, no analytics, no third-party kits, and no account needed to use the app.
